Grace, grace and just grace

A child tries to walk.
He slips and falls.
He tries again...

Quite my story of life. I tried to be sinless, I slipped and fell, only to rise and try again. Well, whatever that exercise was, futile or otherwise, I can't say. But it sure led me to the light - that its grace - and Grace is all that counts.

1 John 2:1 puts it ever so beautifully 'My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:' Sometimes, as Christians, we focus too much on our own righteousness or the lack of it - that we lose focus of the ONE who makes us righteous. We find it difficult to accept that Christ has not only forgiven our past and present, but also our future. We're afraid that so much freedom would doom us.

But the Good News is it doesn't! We are free! I am not endorsing a license to sin as we wish. The point I am trying to make is, we are free! We love Him because we are free! Absolutely free! We abstain from sin because we're free! We love because we're free! We give because we're free! Romans 8:1 puts it like this 'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.' No condemnation! For those who are in Christ and walk after the Spirit, there is NO CONDEMNATION!

Have you slipped? Have you fallen? Kids who try to walk do slip and fall. And the lesson is simple, try again! And you will learn that its not your commitment, or your prayers, or anything you can do - its grace, grace and just grace - that can make anyone righteous! To GOD be the glory!

Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? - Galatians 3:3

Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: - Romans 5:20

The above verses don't try to minimize sin as the succeeding verses would convey. It is only that we get to understand that sin is so huge and insurmountable by our own strength. As I've written from the start, if there is one antidote for sin - its grace, grace and just grace!
